We’re kicking things off with something special.
As of Friday, June 27, the first glimpse into the world of My Super Fiancé—a standalone episode titled “Mr. Simple”—is officially live on Substack and Readawrite.
Told in five parts, this introductory story acts as a “pilot episode” for the full series: a place to meet the characters, feel the spark, and get a taste of the emotional journey to come.
My Super Fiancé is a genre-bending Boys’ Love saga that fuses superhero action, slow-burn romance, political mystery, and a soundtrack-driven narrative experience. It’s serialized, cinematic, and unapologetically queer—and “Mr. Simple” sets the tone.
But this episode is more than just a prologue.
It’s personal.
A Story Years in the Making
The earliest seeds of My Super Fiancé were planted shortly after the release of Perry Moore’s groundbreaking novel Hero. At the time, I had just moved to Los Angeles and published my own debut, The Phoenix Chronicles: Awakenings. I reached out to Perry online, and to my surprise, he responded.
His warmth, creativity, and encouragement gave me the courage to imagine a superhero story of my own—one centered on love, identity, and power. After Perry’s passing, the project was shelved. And then life happened. For the next decade, music took the spotlight, and writing took a backseat.
It wasn’t until the pandemic that the stories began pulling me back.
Back on the Page, with Music in My Ears
In 2023, I released My Dead Boyfriend through Digital Fabulists, a supernatural queer drama that was heavily influenced by my unexpected creative obsession: STARTO ENTERTAINMENT—and especially the J-POP group Travis Japan. Their energy and artistry lit something up in me, so much so that the book ended up dedicated to them.
My Super Fiancé follows that same rhythm—both literally and creatively.
This time, I wrote to the sounds of SixTONES, Snow Man, Ae! group, Naniwa Danshi, and yes, Travis Japan. Their music didn’t just keep me company—it shaped scenes, character arcs, and emotional beats. If you feel the pulse of a pop chorus or the intimacy of a ballad in certain chapters… that’s why.
Mr. Simple: What to Expect
“Mr. Simple” is your first step into Prism City.
This special standalone features:
- A five-part story to introduce the tone, world, and relationships
- A preview of what’s to come in the 12-episode main arc
- The debut of “We Are Magic”, a new original song—and my first ever written in Spanish, and also another first—someone else is performing one of my songs)
There are a lot of firsts in this project. And sharing it with you is one of the biggest.
Thank you for being here. For reading. For listening. For supporting stories where queer love isn’t background noise—but the main event.
Let’s light up Prism City together.
